Farmland Monitoring System Based on Cloud Platform

This paper presents a field environment monitoring system that is based on a cloud platform and a mobile app. The system addresses the issues of low information sharing and poor service ability in the field. It utilizes a wireless sensor network in the fields to collect environment parameters in a timely manner using nRF24L01 and esp8266. The collected information is processed and stored on the OneNet platform, where intelligent decisions can be made. The data is then visualized on the mobile app. The system has been tested and has shown to be simple to operate, accurate in early warning, and highly reliable in remote control. The transmission accuracy rate of the field data is 100%. Overall, the system enables real-time monitoring, remote control, and early warning functions for the farmland environment.

In recent years,Many agricultural farmers 、 enterprises and professional cooperatives have built their agricultural information application system based on the traditional mode with the rapid development of agricultural information technology. In order to solve the problems of information low-sharing 、 weak service and advanced technology’s low industrialization in the development of
agricultural informatization in China, Cloud computing is applied which is is just suitable for the powerful group of agricultural information service for its flexibility and resource sharing.Accurate and timely regulation of field environment is an important part of agricultural informatization,which is important guarantee for crop growth. This paper realizes the precision farmland monitoring & control based on cloud platform.The farmland environment monitoring system based on cloud platform is begin with a wireless sensor network , in which the real-time data acquisition is carried out for the growth environment of farmland such as temperature 、 soil moisture、 water level and soil nutrient composition. Then the data is transformed to cloud by nRF24L01 and esp8266 and is processed and stored in the cloud. The farmland data is displayed on mobile terminal.Last, It realizes remote farmland environment monitoring & control such as irrigation 、 fertilization on mobile APP to ensure that the crops have a good growth environment. Therefore a convenient、fast、efficient and advanced modern agricultural production management is achieved

The farmland monitoring system based on cloud platform consists of field wireless sensor network 、 OneNet cloud platform and mobile terminal.Field environment parameters (such as humidity 、 temperature 、 illumination, etc.) are acquired timely by wireless sensor network and transmitted to the cloud ,and stored & processed in the cloud,and visualized on mobile terminal. The system block
diagram is shown in Figure 1.The field wireless sensor network is constructed by nRF24L01 wireless transceiver chip, which link the main node 、 acquisition-node and control-node together.

In the Farmland Monitoring system,the function of OneNet platform is to receive、store and forward farmland data. The farmland environmental information (such as soil, air temperature and humidity, light intensity) collected by sub-nodes is converged to the main node and then packaged and uploaded to OneNet platform through HTTP protocol. On the OneNet platform, the uploaded farmland data can be displayed when data streams and applications is established.Meanwhile, it can also realize real-time monitoring 、 remote control and early warning & alarm functions at any time with the help of the mobile APP launched by OneNet.
